10° EDIZIONE DELL’ENCICLOPEDIA D’ARTE ITALIANA

EDITORIAL ENCICLOPEDIA D’ARTE ITALIANA 2022
It is a real pleasure and honor to present the tenth edition of the Enciclopedia d’Arte Italiana, result of a work carried out with artists and for artists since 2011.
The tenth anniversary represents a goal of foresight and stubbornness. The editorial efforts had to adapt, over time, to innovations and unexpected events, such as the recent pandemic that has inevitably contaminated the artists’ creativity and profoundly altered the rules of the art market. This element made it necessary an innovative choice, such as to make the volume of 2021 virtual, in order to allow the artists of the Enciclopedia to be visible even in extreme conditions.
Innovation is a constant in the entire history of the Enciclopedia d’Arte Italiana, which, after becoming bilingual, since this year has been included by Wikipedia as an institution and will be officially presented in the Library of Congress of the United States of America in Washington.
Alongside the artists, with critics, institutions, museums, galleries and foundations, in the issue of the tenth anniversary, large space was reserved for the Artist of the Year, Drago Cerchiari, already protagonist, with Nicol Ferrari, Enza De Paolis, Giuseppe Frascaroli and Elisa Macaluso of the personal exhibitions organized online by the staff of the Enciclopedia d’Arte Italiana during the forced closures of the exhibition spaces.
The cover of the tenth anniversary is dedicated to a great master, the painter Paolo Salvati, selected for being distinguished by quality and humanity in the world of contemporary art.
A choice in line with the philosophy of the cultural and artistic project of the Enciclopedia d’Arte Italiana that follows those dedicated to Giuseppe Viola, Georges Secan, Fiorenzo Barindelli, Amedeo Modigliani, Ernesto Treccani, Umberto Boccioni, Remo Brindisi, Giò Pomodoro and Salvatore Fiume.
To all the artists, critics, directors of Galleries, Museums and Foundations and to the entire staff of the Enciclopedia d’Arte Italiana, I extend my personal thanks for the trust granted to me and for the work done so far in harmony and great professionalism.
